Step Brothers

The story of two men both roughly forty years old that are still living at home. Their parents move in together and get married. The two brothers begin fighting, but become friends in the end. CLASSIC. Enough said.

Coach Carter

This movie, based on a true story, will be the last of my posts. Coach Carter is based on a true story of a basketball team that was headed no where, to having almost an undefeated season. The coach, Ken Carter, takes every step necessary to discipline his team to become quality sportsmen and quality men off of the basketball court.

Law Abiding Citizen

Law Abiding Citizen. Gerard Butler plays a man in which his wife and daughter are murdered. He then takes the next ten years to plan how to kill everyone associated with that murder trial where only one of the acused was sentanced to death. Action packed! Makes me wonder how someone could be so smart.

Shutter Island

Well since I am new to this, my last post did not have a picture, but the URL for the picture is at the bottom, as will this one. Shutter Island, still in theaters, is one of my favorites already because of the new twists it throws at you in every scene. I will not summarize this movie, for it still being in theaters, because many people may not have had the opportunity to view it yet. I'll leave you with the last line of the movie: "I wonder, is it better to live like a monster, or die a good man?"

Flyboys

Unlike my last several posts, these next few will have something to look at as well. The movie Flyboys is based during the time of WWI, and includes the French Air Force (FAF). It is the story of a Western young man that is chased out of a town and uses the FAF as a scap goat. After training, he is viewed as one of the better pilots and helps lead the attacks on their enemy. Along the way he meets a French woman and falls in love with her. It's a very good movie with much action and, for the women, a little bit of romance.

Hoosiers

Along with my last post, Glory Road, Hoosiers is also a movie based on a true story about basketbal. In a rural Indiana town, the high school has barely enough plays to fill the starting spots on the team. A new coach from the New York area is brought in and is known for his highly disaplined teams. With the hard work of the coach and the players they make a run for the state title. Despite being the under-dog, the team wins and shows that hard work can and will pay off even when you may think there is no chance.

Glory Road

This movie is based in the 1960s when racism in athletics was at it's highest. The movie is about a basketball team that consists of seven black players, and seven white players. The team, from El Paso,Texas, gets past racism, and begins winning every game. They make it to the NCAA Finals, to play an all white school Kentucky. The coach's thought is to only play the black players to end the racism and descrimination. El Paso wins, and prooves that there is no diffence of play between races. This movie is based on a true story, and shows that it's possible to do anything even when you think your given the short end of the stick.
